The Barrier Pest Control Process

When you contact us

  • We will discuss your concerns (type of pest/s, is treatment safe to infants, what to do with pets, any preparation required, etc.) At times it is necessary to obtain more information either via photos or even an assessment by our professional Pest Technician.

  • We will provide you with accurate information so you can make a wise decision.

  • We will recommend the best solution/s for your particular situation.

  • We will set up the date and time for the inspection or treatment.

  • We will inform you and also send to you an information package should any preparation be required on your part for the appointment day.

Before We Arrive

  • Please ensure free access to floor skirting as much as possible, the more the better.

  • Please ensure safe access to roof voids and subfloors for our technician.

  • We prefer that young children (under 4) not be home while the pest treatment is carried out and for an hour or two afterwards until the spray is dry. The pesticides we use are the same as used in hospitals and day-care centres, however contact with the spray whilst still wet is best avoided.

  • Similarly, pets should either be removed from the premises until after the spray is dried, or confined in an area you are happy to not have treated (e.g. laundry or garage).

  • Please cover pet food/water bowls.

  • Please do not have washing hanging on the clothesline.

  • Since it is preferred that floor edges next to floor skirting not be vacuumed or washed/mopped for at least one month, you may want to do this before the treatment.

  • If we are treating for fleas please vacuum all carpets, mow your lawn as short as possible and water the lawn and garden before we arrive.

When We Arrive

  • We will arrive on time, or advise you if we are running late.

  • Our technician will remove his boots each time he enters your home.

  • Please advise our technician of any particular pest problems you have been experiencing.

  • It is important that no other tradesmen are working while a treatment is in progress.

  • Please advise if your property adjoins a school, pre-school or day care centre as we are required to notify such institutions that a pest spray is taking place.

  • The inspection and/or application will be carried out by our qualified technician, as requested.

  • We’ll advise you of any further measures which can be taken to maintain effective results.

When We Leave

  • We leave your premises exactly the way we found them.

  • We advise that there be no activity until the application is totally dry.

  • Please do not vacuum or wash/mop the floor edges next to floor skirting for at least one month for maximum effectiveness.

  • Please do not wash or hose building for at least one month to maximise effectiveness.

  • We’ll advise you of any further measures which can be taken to maintain a strong barrier to pests.
